Privacy Notice
Last updated October 2026. How PGNI handles personal information from this website.
PharmacoGeNomics Institute for Research and Education (PGNI) respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers website visitors and people who write to us. It does not cover research data, which is handled under the PGNI Data Management and Privacy Policy.
What we collect
- Contact form. Your name, email address, and message, plus the organization, phone number, and subject if you choose to give them.
- Emails and interest lists. If you email us or ask to join an interest list for a course or program, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
- Technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. We use it to keep the site secure and working.
- Fellowship applications. The application form PGNI sends you, which asks for your name, contact details, country, degrees, profession and organization, a statement of purpose, a one-page project idea, the names and contact details of two references, and notes from a short interview.
- References. If you give us the name and email address of a reference, please make sure they agree to be contacted. We use their details only to ask for a reference.
- IRB requests. If you submit a request for IRB review, we receive the details of the study and the contact details you provide, as described on the IRB application page.
We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this website.
Please do not send health information
Do not include personal health information, genetic data, or research participant data in the contact form or in email. If your work involves participant data, contact us first so that it can be handled under the right safeguards. Please also leave health information, genetic data, and participant data out of your fellowship application, statement of purpose, and project idea.
How we use it
- To reply to your message and to run the services you ask about.
- To tell you about a course or program when you have asked to join its interest list.
- To review fellowship applications, contact your references, and tell you the decision.
- If you enroll in the fellowship, to run the program, match you with a mentor, and keep a record that you completed it.
- To keep the website secure and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who handles it for us
We use a few service providers to run the website, and they process some information on our behalf: our website host, the service that delivers form messages to our inbox, our email provider, and the service that supplies the website's fonts, which receives your IP address when a page loads. We may also share information when the law requires it. We do not share it with anyone else for their own purposes. Fellowship applications are read by PGNI staff, reviewers, and mentors involved in admissions, and by the references you name.
How long we keep it
We keep messages for as long as needed to answer them and to keep a record of our work, and interest-list details until you ask to be removed or the program is no longer offered. We keep fellowship applications that are not accepted for 12 months and then delete them. For fellows, we keep enrollment and completion records for 7 years so that we can confirm a certificate.
