Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last updated October 2026. Cancellations and refunds for education, IRB review, and research services.
This policy applies to fees paid to PharmacoGeNomics Institute for Research and Education (PGNI) for education and training, IRB review, and research services. To ask for a refund or to cancel, write to info@pgni.org and include the name on the order and what you paid for.
Education and training
- Before the program starts. You can cancel up to 7 days before the start date for a full refund, or move to a later cohort at no charge. This does not include the fellowship application fee.
- After the program starts. Fees are not refunded once the first session has begun, but we will move you to a later cohort where one is offered.
- If PGNI cancels or reschedules. You may choose a full refund or a place in the next cohort.
- Fellowship application fee. The application fee is not refundable. If you are admitted and enroll, it is deducted from your tuition.
- Discounts and scholarships. Discounted tuition and scholarships are available to students and to applicants from pharmacogenomics-underrepresented and underserved populations. PGNI reviews each request and awards them at its discretion.
- Program outcomes. Completing the fellowship earns the PGNI Pharmacogenomics Research Fellowship Certificate once the program requirements are met. PGNI does not guarantee publication, funding, employment, or any other outcome.
IRB review fees
- Before review begins. If you withdraw before your submission is assigned to a reviewer, the fee is refunded in full.
- After review begins. Reviewer time is committed, so the fee is not refunded.
- If PGNI cannot accept your submission. For example, if it falls outside the scope of PGNI’s IRB, the fee is refunded in full.
Research services
Research services follow the terms of the engagement letter signed for each project. Either side may end an engagement with 14 days’ written notice. You pay for work completed up to that date, and fees paid in advance for work not yet started are refunded.
How refunds are paid
Approved refunds are returned by the same method used to pay, within 30 days of approval. Bank or transfer charges that the payer’s bank applies may not be recoverable.
Discounted fees
Discounted fees are refunded at the amount actually paid.
